6th Gainsborough Sea Scouts

Scout Headquarters, Love Lane, Gainsborough

At 6th Gainsborough Sea Scouts, we’re all about fun, friendship, and adventure, with a nautical twist! Even though we’re based inland in Lincolnshire, we embrace the spirit of the sea through exciting water-based activities and maritime skills, alongside traditional Scouting experiences. Whether it’s kayaking, raft building, or learning how to navigate, we offer young people the chance to develop skills for life through teamwork, exploration, and community involvement.

Beavers (Ages 6–8)

Our Beavers section is where the adventure begins! Beavers enjoy a wide range of activities that help them explore the world around them, from nature walks and crafts to games and storytelling. It’s all about building confidence, making friends, and having fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Cubs (Ages 8–10½)

Cubs take the next step in their Scouting journey with even more exciting challenges. From camping and hiking to learning new skills and earning badges, Cubs develop independence, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility, all while having a blast!

Scouts (Ages 10½–14)

Scouts take adventure to the next level with even more opportunities to challenge themselves and grow. Whether it’s mastering survival skills, taking part in community projects, or heading out on the water, Scouts build resilience, leadership, and confidence. It’s all about discovering what they’re capable of—and having a great time doing it!

Explorers (Ages 14–18)

Our Explorer Scouts meet at the same location as the 6th Gainsborough Sea Scouts, Scouts Group, but they are part of a wider District Explorer provision. This means they benefit from a broader programme of activities, events, and opportunities across the District, while still enjoying the familiarity of our meeting place. Explorers are encouraged to take the lead, develop independence, and get involved in everything from adventurous expeditions to leadership roles. For more information, visit the District Explorer Page.

Volunteer With Us

Scouting wouldn’t be possible without our amazing volunteers. Whether you can spare an hour a week or a few days a year, there’s a role for everyone. From leading activities to helping behind the scenes, volunteering with us is a rewarding way to make a difference in young people’s lives, and have fun doing it!
